Concert at Nidarosdomen
Our welcome event on Wednesday evening will include a concert at Nidarosdomen, one of the oldest cathedrals in Scandanavia. This concert is a generous gift from the City of Trondheim, called Trondheim Kommune, to recognize and support the importance of the work women in computing have done and to celebrate ten years of ACM womENcourage.
Nidaros Cathedral is also the world’s northernmost medieval cathedral. The cathedral is built over the tomb of St. Olav, the Viking king who converted Norway to Christianity and became “Norway’s Eternal King.” Throughout the Middle Ages this was a towering symbol of religious faith and the powerful position of the Church. Other attractions on the premises include The Archbishop’s Palace, The Crown Regalia, and The Church of Our Lady. This event is open to all registered participants.
