Call for Workshops

We welcome proposals for workshops and tutorials on topics related to the conference theme, Computing Connecting Everyone. With this session we invite you to meet colleagues to inspire, to share your experiences, and learn from each other. The overall purpose of a workshops and tutorials is to provide an opportunity  an opportunity to gain knowledge and practical skills from experts, peers, and colleagues.

Workshops/tutorials can be long (3 hours) or short (1,5 hours) depending on the scope and the content of the event. By reminding you that this conference is open to all genders and in your proposal we kindy ask you: 

  • to use English as a primary language
  • to avoid political statements, political films, brochures or similar 

Proposals should be prepared using the SIGCONF template from the packages available here (https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template). Proposals should provide information about the:

  • workshop/tutorial title
  • workshop/tutorial abstract [max 500 words]
  • workshop/tutorial keywords [at least 3 keywords]
  • workshop/tutorial description: objectives, goals, relevance to WomEncourge2023, and expected outcomes
  • details of presenter(s)
  • description of target audience and expected outcomes
  • workshop/tutorial duration, format, activities, and schedule 

The WomEncourge 2023 organizing committee invites proposals for workshops which should be submitted through HotCRP  and follow this timeline

Proposal evaluation criteria

All workshop proposals will be reviewed based on the following considerations:

  • Relevance of the workshop to the scope of the main event
  • Novelty with respect to the other workshops/tutorials
  • Likely impact on the target community and workshop’s potential for attracting participants
  • Uploading the proposal in accordance with the criterias
