Welcome to the 12th ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage™ 2025, hosted by Transilvania University of Brașov and organized in collaboration with Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași and Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj.

The conference theme Computer Science: a Catalyst for Educational Change delves into the transformative role of computer science in reshaping education. We seek contributions highlighting innovative research and technologies that enhance learning experiences. This includes advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI), Quantum Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, and Applied Mathematics in Computer Science. Contributions on curriculum topics, digital pedagogy and learning platforms, data-driven educational decisions, and the role of entrepreneurship in driving educational innovation are also welcomed. Emphasis is placed on promoting accessibility and inclusion, ensuring equitable technology access for diverse and underserved communities. Additionally, we encourage discussions on the professional development of educators and the ethical and cybersecurity challenges in education.

By addressing these critical issues, we aim to create a more inclusive and secure educational environment that supports continuous growth and equitable opportunities for all learners. The conference places particular importance on initiatives that advance gender equality, aiming to empower women and girls in STEM fields. We warmly invite researchers, educators, technologists, and industry professionals to share their invaluable insights, innovative ideas, and practical experiences, thereby contributing to this transformative dialogue aimed at shaping the future of our field.

womENcourage™ is an ACM initiative celebrating the achievements of women in computing, established by ACM-W Europe with the goal of fostering connections among women across various technical disciplines and motivating them to continue their education and careers in the field of computing. The event serves as a platform for undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, academics, and engineers from Europe and beyond to come together, present their work, share experiences, and engage in discussions on critical issues facing women in the computing profession. Let’s empower diversity in computing technology and education, at womENcourage™ 2025 which will take place in Brașov, Romania, September 17-19.
