The Swedish monetary unit is the Swedish krona (SEK), divided into 100 öre. In August 2014: Euro 1=SEK 9, USD 1=SEK 7, GBP 1=SEK 11,5. Major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. There are several currency exchange offices and cash dispensers at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport and in Uppsala.

Climate and Clothing

The average temperature in Uppsala in September is 7.1 °C (low) to 15 °C (high). The Celsius temperature scale was in fact named after Anders Celsius, a professor at Uppsala University. Smoking is prohibited in any public indoor establishment. This includes restaurants and bars as well as the conference venue.
