Antibes (the city that is near the Campus)

In the 5th century BC, the Greeks established a trading post, after having founded Marseille (Massalia), that they called Antipolis. Having become Roman and attached to Rome, Antipolis experienced considerable growth. A factor in economic development, the Aurelia Way, one of the main roads in Gaul, served the city.

Nowadays, Antibes has  a very beautiful old town near the coast. From an architectural point of view, it brilliantly combines the past and the present.  Antibes also has the Port Vauban that is one of the Mediterranean’s leading yachting and pleasure ports and it also combines heritage and modernity.

Five French elite sports centers are located in Antibes Juan-les-Pins: swimming, sailing, gymnastics, trampoline and acrosport and swimming with fins.

Cannes

Cannes (that is located 10 kms from Antibes) is the city of the famous International Film Cannes Festival that occurs every year during 10 days in May and where all the famous stars come and walk on the red carpet 🙂. Cannes also has the amazing Croisette with lovely palm trees.

Nice

Nice (that is located 20 kms from Antibes) looks like an Italian city as it is very colourful. It has an amazing old town with very tiny and lovely streets. It also has the famous Promenade des Anglais
