"Automatic text summarization and its applications"

Automatic text summarization is the task of finding most relevant information in a textual collection. It has a long history in Natural Language Processing where the focus has been summarizing documents for human consumption. In this talk, I am going to talk about text summarization efforts in Google for both human and machine consumption. I will briefly talk about our summarization technology and focus on the various applications of summarization in Google.
