We enable our members to create and shape how people interact with technology and understand how technologies have an impact in people\u2019s lives.

We aim to enhance our members\u2019 ability to innovate and understand technologies for the greater public good.
SIGCHI Mission<\/strong>
ACM SIGCHI facilitates an environment where its members can invent and develop novel technologies and tools, explore how technology impacts people\u2019s lives, inform public policy, and design new interaction techniques and interfaces. We are an interdisciplinary field comprised of academics, practitioners, and educators, and we welcome a variety of approaches to solve these complex problems. The mission of ACM SIGCHI is to support the professional growth of its members who are interested in how people interact with technologies and how technology changes society.
Who are members of SIGCHI?<\/strong>
Many of our members are involved in the design, implementation, and use of interactive computer-based systems in the broadest sense, ranging from desktop computing, to interactive TV devices. Other members are researchers seeking to understand human-technology interface from many perspectives, including psychology, sociology, anthropology, industrial design, and ergonomics. Still others are educators, training tomorrow\u2019s professionals and providing knowledge of HCI to those who might need it within their own profession. Students also take an active part in SIGCHI and enjoy a number of services designed specifically to meet their needs.
